ASP.NET Core is an open-source and cross-platform framework for building modern cloud based internet connected applications, such as web apps, IoT apps and mobile backends. ASP.NET Core apps can run on .NET Core or on the full .NET Framework. It was architected to provide an optimized development framework for apps that are deployed to the cloud or run on-premises. It consists of modular components with minimal overhead, so you retain flexibility while constructing your solutions. You can develop and run your ASP.NET Core apps cross-platform on Windows, Mac and Linux. Learn more about ASP.NET Core.

Issue:How to remove and reinstall the Microsoft .NET Framework in order to correct a problem with Autodesk software, such as a 'general failure' during installation (due to a conflict with installer prerequisites) or any type of misbehavior or crash during normal operation.Solution:Uninstalling the .NET Framework is done the same as other programs, except on newer Windows 8 and 10 systems where it cannot be uninstalled. The different versions and components will be listed in Programs and Features (or Add or Remove Programs for Windows XP). However, one thing to keep in mind is that even though you may have all versions of .NET installed, only some may be listed for uninstalling. The newest Windows operating systems have older versions of .NET built into them. These built-in versions cannot be uninstalled. For example, Windows 7 will only list .NET 4 to uninstall with 3.5.1 and older built into the system. To uninstall the Microsoft .NET Framework:
Note: Windows 8, 8.1, and 10 systems do not list 'Microsoft .NET' as an installed program. Looking at 'View installed updates' in Programs and Features in Windows 8 and 8.1 it may be possible to find the corresponding KB number and remove it that way. Windows 10 systems, however, with current updates from Microsoft, will not have any option to uninstall .NET. However, if your overall Windows Updates are not current, it may be possible to install the latest .NET version. Download and install all of the following that pertain to your version of Windows:To reinstall the Microsoft .NET Framework: Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 (for Windows XP) Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 [includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0] (for Windows XP and Vista) Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 (for Windows XP, Vista, and 7) Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 (for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1) Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.2 (for Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10) Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.1 (for Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10) Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 (for Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10) [this page provides the most current .NET for download] Note: Each version of .NET 4 updates and overwrites previous ones, so on Windows 7, 8, 8,1, and 10 only the latest .NET 4 needs to be installed. Microsoft does list the system requirements for each of these on their respective download pages but the installers are coded to only install on supported systems, so it is virtually impossible to make a mistake and install the wrong one. As an optional step to get a complete clean removal of the .NET files, run the .NET Framework Cleanup Tool: .NET Framework Cleanup Tool User's Guide The tool will not remove versions of .NET that have been built into the Windows operating system (see What version of the .NET Framework is included in what version of the OS?). It will only affect what you see listed in Programs and Features for which you could uninstall yourself. On non-Windows XP systems, it may be necessary to right-click the EXE for the tool and choose 'Run as administrator.' If errors occur in the utility, run it again until no errors occur.
